The courses

Programs & learning

Which belt should I start with?

If you’re new to process improvement, White Belt is a fast, completely free introduction you can finish in a weekend. If you want a credential that qualifies you to lead projects, go straight to Green Belt — it opens with a foundations module that covers everything White Belt does. Black Belt is for experienced practitioners ready for advanced statistics and program leadership.

Are there any prerequisites?

No formal ones, for any program. White Belt and Green Belt assume no prior knowledge — every tool is introduced from first principles. For Black Belt we strongly recommend Green Belt (or equivalent hands-on experience) first, because it assumes fluency with core DMAIC tools and moves quickly into advanced methods.

How much time does each program take?

White Belt is about 6 hours of material — most students finish within a week. Green Belt is about 35 hours, which working professionals typically spread over four to eight weeks. Black Belt is about 60 hours including the capstone, usually eight to twelve weeks part-time. There are no deadlines, so the pace is entirely yours.

What devices can I learn on?

Anything with a modern browser — laptop, tablet or phone. There is nothing to install, and your progress syncs across devices, so you can watch a lesson on your commute and pick up at your desk.

Is everything really self-paced?

Yes. There are no cohorts, no scheduled classes, no start dates and no deadlines. You enroll on any day, study when it suits you, and sit the exam whenever you feel ready.

Do the courses get updated?

Yes — we revise lessons, templates and practice material on an ongoing basis, and every update is included in your purchase. Lifetime access means access to the course as it improves, not a snapshot of the day you bought it.

What exactly is inside a course?

Short, focused video lessons — from 24 in White Belt to 140 in Black Belt — with worksheets and downloadable templates you can use at work immediately. Green Belt and Black Belt also run on a full simulated project you complete as you learn. Every program ends with practice questions and the proctored certification exam.

Getting certified

Exams & certification

What is the exam format?

Every exam is a timed, multiple-choice test taken online. White Belt is 30 questions in 45 minutes. Green Belt is 100 questions in 3 hours. Black Belt is 150 questions in 4 hours. Green and Black Belt also include a full-length practice exam with worked explanations, so nothing on exam day is a surprise.

What score do I need to pass?

The passing score is 70% on every exam, at every belt level. You see your result as soon as you finish.

What happens if I don’t pass?

Every program includes one free retake — no extra charge, no waiting period beyond the time you want to review. If you need help beyond that, write to support@averoninstitute.org and we’ll work something out.

How does online proctoring work?

The exam is proctored online, so there are no test centers and no appointments. You start it from your dashboard whenever you’re ready; the session is timed and monitored to protect the integrity of the credential — which is exactly what makes it worth putting on your profile.

How is my certificate issued?

Immediately. The moment you pass, your certificate is issued to your dashboard — your name, the certification, the issue date and your unique credential ID. You can download it as a high-resolution PDF, print it, and add it to LinkedIn in one click.

What is the credential ID for?

Every certificate carries a unique credential ID. Anyone — an employer, a recruiter, a client — can enter it on our public verification page at /verify and confirm the certificate is genuine, with no account required. It’s the difference between a certificate and a credential.

The LinkedIn credential

How does “Add to LinkedIn” work?

When you pass your exam, your dashboard shows an “Add to LinkedIn” button. One click opens LinkedIn with the certification pre-filled — the credential name, Averon Institute as the issuing organization, your issue date and your credential ID. Confirm, and it’s live on your profile.

What appears on my profile?

The credential sits in the Licenses & Certifications section of your LinkedIn profile: the certification name, Averon Institute as issuer, the issue date and your credential ID. It looks exactly the way credentials from universities and professional bodies do.

Does the certification expire?

No. Your certification never expires — there are no renewal fees, no continuing-education requirements and no annual dues. Once you’ve earned the belt, it’s yours.

Can employers verify it from LinkedIn?

Yes. The credential ID shown on your profile can be checked on our verification page at any time, so anyone who sees the credential can confirm it in seconds.

Money matters

Payments & refunds

How does pricing work?

White Belt is completely free — course, exam and certificate included, no card required. The paid programs are single one-time purchases: $299 for Green Belt and $499 for Black Belt. Every price includes the full course, the proctored exam, one free retake, your certificate, the LinkedIn credential and lifetime access. No subscriptions, no upsells, no hidden fees.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards, processed through Stripe’s secure checkout. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.

What is your refund policy?

Every program comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you’ve completed less than 25% of the course, tell us within 30 days of purchase and we’ll refund you in full — no questions, no hoops. The full terms are in our refund policy.

Can I get an invoice or receipt?

A receipt is emailed to you automatically the moment your payment goes through. If you need a formal invoice — for an expense claim or employer reimbursement — email support@averoninstitute.org and we’ll prepare one.

Do you offer team or bulk purchases?

Yes. If you’re certifying a team, get in touch through our contact page with the belts and number of seats you need, and we’ll arrange the purchase and set everyone up together.

Your account

Account & access

When does my access start?

Your enrollment is active the moment your payment is confirmed. Your account is created during checkout, and your program appears in your dashboard right away — we’ll email you as soon as your lessons are ready to open.

How long does my access last?

Forever. Lifetime access is included with every program, and it covers every future update to the material as well. There is nothing to renew and nothing that expires.

I forgot my password — what do I do?

For now, password resets are handled by our support team: email support@averoninstitute.org from the address on your account and we’ll get you back in.

Where do I find my courses?

In your learning dashboard. Log in on any device and every program you own is there — lessons, templates, your simulated project, your exam and, once you’ve passed, your certificate.
